How to draw Black cypress tree from Starry Night by Van Gogh
GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.
1) Draw a vertical rectangle that will define the conditional proportions and boundaries of the chosen drawing. 2) From the upper boundary of the rectangle draw two vertical lines that will divide the rectangle by 3 equal parts. 3) From the middle of the right boundary of the rectangle, draw one horizontal line equally dividing the shape. 4) Draw a horizontal line equally dividing the upper half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a horizontal line equally dividing the bottom half of the rectangle.

STEP 1. Draw a line in the direction where the cypress will be located
STEP 2. Sketch a triangular silhouette of a tree. Erase the auxiliary line.
STEP 3. Start drawing the plant. Erase the excess.
STEP 4. Add wavy lines to the inside of the cypress.
STEP 5. Add more detail.
STEP 6. Draw stars swirling around.
STEP 7. Check that there are no extra lines in the drawing. Contour cypress, trying to vary the thickness and darkness of the line.
STEP 8. Colour in the picture and bring it to life. Enjoy your drawing!
